Our Story
Arthur Holmes Ltd. is a family business that has been part of Wellington's community for over 100 years now.
Arthur, grandfather of Rick Holmes the present owner, founded the firm in 1910 importing glass containers from the United Kingdom. On returning from World War II, Arthur's son Jock started working for the firm, and eventually took charge. Then late in 1979, Jock's son Rick reluctantly gave up Farm Advising to take control of the business after Jock's health deteriorated. For the past 30 years operations have been centralised in a 14,000 sq ft warehouse in Newtown, Wellington. We now have eight full-time staff on the team. - view more
